Completion of the First Field Survey in Ocean and Lands of Greater Bay Area

2024-08-03

From July 11 to August 3, 2024, Earth-HK research teams conducted a 24-day scientific expedition along the coast of the Greater Bay Area. This expedition brought together a total of 32 teachers and students from The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, The University of Hong Kong, The Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (Guangzhou), and several universities from mainland China. They carried out investigations at over 90 operational sites in areas such as the Pearl River channel, the Pearl River Estuary, and coastal regions of Guangdong Province (from Shangchuan Island to Daya Bay).

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the front-line researchers involved. Their tireless efforts and unwavering dedication have been essential in gathering the necessary data and ensuring the success of the survey.

This scientific expedition will provide observational data for the progress of Earth-HK, contributing to the sustainable development of the entire terrestrial-marine-atmospheric environment in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area.
