To promote the sharing and co-construction of marine resources in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, the Center for Ocean Research in Hong Kong and Macau (CORE) and The Hong Kong Research Grants Council(RGC)'s Area of Excellence (AoE) project: "Study of the Regional Earth System for Sustainable Development under Climate Change in the Greater Bay Area" (Earth-HK) will host The 3rd Hong Kong and Macau Ocean Forum and AoE Project: Earth-HK Annual Meeting 2024 at the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology on 22-24 October 2024. The forum will continue to focus on the theme of "Earth System Science for Climate Change, Carbon Neutrality, and Blue Economy". It aims to invite domestic and international experts and scholars in the field of marine science to discuss scientific and technological topics related to the theme, providing an academic exchange platform to explore innovative theories and technologies in marine science.
The forum seeks to deepen the collaboration between the mainland and Hong Kong/Macau in the co-construction of marine resources and contribute to the sustainable development of the Greater Bay Area and China's marine sector.
