Earth-HK(AoE/P-601/23-N) and Center for Ocean Research in Hong Kong and Macau (CORE) Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme (PDFS) Award Ceremony 2025 and Workshop

OVERVIEW
The Area of Excellence (AoE) Scheme project on the "Study of the Regional Earth System for Sustainable Development under Climate Change in the Greater Bay Area" (Earth-HK) officially started in January 2024. Thanks to the dedicative support from project members, Earth-HK has completed a few comprehensive field surveys in Shenzhen Bay,  Greater Bay Area, Pearl River Estuary (PRE), and its shelf water in last summer.

The PDFS is designed to support Earth-HK project members in identifying and nurturing highly promising postdoctoral researchers who can significantly advance the project’s goals. Candidates will be evaluated based on their research relevance to EARTH-HK’s four major research tasks, which include:

  • Atmosphere: Research on atmospheric circulation, severe weather prediction, and long-term climate variability.
  • Land: Studies focusing on river basin processes, groundwater dynamics, and the impacts of land use change.
  • Ocean: Investigations into ocean circulation and coupled physical-biogeochemical dynamics.
  • Climate and Human Activities: Exploration of the interactions between climate change and human activities.

To celebrate the achievements of the awardees, an award ceremony and research workshop will be held on October 22, 2025. This event will provide a platform for awardees to present their research findings and foster collaboration among peers, further enhancing the impact of their work.
